Real estate with real structure

Know house isn’t just building properties, they’re shaping some of the most desirable beachfront developments in Mauritius. With a focus on premium locations and international clients, their website needed to reflect that level of polish. Clean, modern, and functional, something that could speak to foreign investors while staying grounded in the island’s unique vibe.

The project was brought into Fourlines Design Studio by Xavier, who led the UX/UI and part of the build. I came in to handle the custom development work, particularly around the Projects and Portfolio sections, where the real technical heavy lifting happened.

One content type, two roles

The client had one key request: they wanted the ability to manage all their developments, ongoing or completed, through a single system. When a project was finished, they didn’t want to re-enter content just to move it into a portfolio view. It needed to be seamless.

So I built a custom post type from scratch using JetEngine and Elementor Pro. Each property could be marked as either “Project” or “Portfolio,” with all the same data structure and frontend styling intact. The system handled everything, dynamic display, menu placement, and visibility across templates, without the client needing to touch layout or code.

Features that flex with content

Each property entry was rich with detail. The CPT was configured with multiple fields and toggles that handled:

  • Project status and visibility (ongoing or archived)
  • Feature icons (selected by ticking checkboxes in the backend)
  • Image gallery upload and layout styling
  • Technical specifications
  • Project team members
  • Embedded maps and location details

The beauty of this setup is that the client just fills out the form. The system does the rest. No duplicated data. No design inconsistencies.

A collaboration that clicked

This was one of my earliest collaborations with Xavier, and the process was smooth from start to finish. The designs were clear, the layout logic made sense, and we both had a shared understanding of how the site should feel. I also jumped in to help Xavier with general development support across other pages when needed, but my main focus stayed on building a solid, scalable property management system.

clean, calm, confident

The final result is a bilingual, responsive website that feels light yet luxurious. It’s built to scale with Know House’s future developments, and it doesn’t rely on bloated plugins or inflexible structures. Everything was custom-built for their business model.

And more importantly, the site matches the level of refinement their brand is known for.

Client reaction

Know House was thrilled. The site captured their tone and showcased their properties exactly how they wanted, modern, clean, and tailored for an international audience. It now serves as a powerful sales tool and a polished portfolio of past successes.

For me, this project wasn’t about flash. It was about building smart, functional architecture behind the scenes so that a high-end experience could shine through on the surface.
